If you want to explore some generated dungeons, this is one of the very best. After tons of hours with web version I finally decided to buy steam version. I'm sure it's really fair to pay for this gameand give it a try. Mechanics are simple and intuitive, while still being varied enough to stay fresh from run to run. I've spent probably over 200 hours on this game series, and at $5 this is an amazing buy, even without the additional content that's being released throughout early access.. Beat every character on kong, this one has quite a few new additions. I'm glad to see the active updates. I still feel "time" should not be the only trophy. I want to explore the side branches of the dungeon without feeling pressure of time. Perhaps an additional hard mode after you beat the 45 min speed, or beat without using x, or beating it adds stats to the character so it becomes easier to beat the harder time limits. Just some ideas, great job with this. This is a steal for this price. Has rapidly become my favourite roguelike+ flexible characters: I've made warriors who were masters of toxic magic, and mages who were whirling industrial melee death grinders+ difficulty: yes it's hard, but 95% of my deaths have been via my own dumb stubborn SAVE ALL THE CONSUMABLES headspace+ Dev's attitude: constant updates and bug fixes, new stuff to find nearly every week+ replayability: lots of characters and races to experiment with+ cheap: like the budgie- minor balance issues: there are OP talents and items - confusion, life spike + cannibalise, anything with speed - that can make runs too easy- minmaxing a character to an insane intelligence/spell power and then casting disease on a blinking opponent- nah that's my own dumb fault as well, seriously if you like roguelikes, you're going to dig this the most. Pretty awesome old school dungeon crawler. Its hard, and has a steep learning curve. Its immensely entertaining and challenging. No saves. 1 life. Multiple race/class combos.Multi-classing possibilites create endless combosAwesome replayability.ROCK Solid, no issues, no bugs.NO microtransactions/dlc/seasonpass gargbage!Probably the best $5 I've spent in the last 20 years.GET IT!!. UPDATE] Enchanter is my new favorite class. This game is so good!Have you ever found yourself in a sewer zapping multiple rats at a time using a pool of water to extend your range and then realized it was a Rat Piper summoning them so you started zapping the crap out of him and then realized you could recruit him using a Domination Scroll (if you don't kill him) and now you have an army of rats at your beckoned call? Would you like to?This game scratches the same itch that Crypt of the Necrodancer does. I’m still not entirely sure that it’s beatable, but I’m hooked anyway and *so close.* It’s got a satisfying crunch to it that I can’t get enough of.. Great game. Played it on Newgrounds before buying it here and the latest updates are well worth it.. Excellent distillation of roguelike dungeon crawlers, challenging and very addictive!. Coming from someone who had never before played a roguelike (and liked it enough to keep playing), I think this is an excellent game, and it's only going to get better as it continues to develop. I got into it a few months ago back on Kongregate, then my roommate saw me playing and now he's hooked, too. The game has a certain charm that makes it so that, even when you lose, you may not want to play for a few hours, but the next day (or later the same day), you find yourself wanting to come back and try again. The game is set up so that, once you get really good, you can potentially finish many games in under 45 minutes. However, you can also take it very slow and carefully (as I do) to really think your way through tough situations. The game allows for such broad versatility in play styles and options (even within a given class) that, when combined with the dungeon generation, gives it a huge amount of replayability. And the music is great, too.The developer is commited to making the game the best that it can be, and takes into serious consideration player feedback and discussions.TL;DR: Excellent retro-style rogue-like with great music, great dev, huge versatility, huge replayability, and an addictive charm that makes you want to come back even after the most punishing of deaths.
